About Wayne and Diane
I, Wayne Rautio, was born and raised in a Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church in Northern Michigan. I first became involved in Christian work at a Bible Conference in New Hampshire in 1964, where I met my wife Diane. We went from there to Bibletown Community Church in Boca Raton, Fl. and into Child Evangelism Fellowship® in 1972.
We served as local Directors of Palm Beach County Fl., for two years. I attended Word of Life Bible Institute, and while there taught a class on Child Evangelism. We spent two tours overseas with CEF, from 1976-1984 in Finland and Germany. In the 90s Diane and I served on the State board in New Hampshire. I’ve made two teaching trips to Russia, in 1996 and 1997 with Campus Crusade for Christ, teaching at the New Life Bible College in Moscow.
In the Spring of 2004 I made another teaching trip to Minsk, Belarus and the Baltics. Diane and I taught in Russia and the Baltics again in Sept. 2006. I made another teaching trip to the Baltics in September of 2008. We made another teaching trip to the Baltics and Finland in August of 2012. We made another teaching trip to the Baltics and Finland in August of 2013.
I praise Him for calling me to work in CEF of Northern Virginia because of the international community. I assumed the directorship here Jan. 1, 1999. Besides my involvement with Child Evangelism Fellowship and Campus Crusade for Christ, I’ve worked with many churches teaching Sunday school teachers and giving seminars on the Responsibility of Christian Parents.
My strengths are in organization and motivation. I have always been a teacher or leader in every field of work.
My love is to see children come to know the Lord as early as possible, then grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
